GROUND WATER CELL OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives

To Evaluate the Ground Water Resources and its development for increasing the Agricultural Production

To help farmers in installation of shallow tubewells by locating suitable sites through geo-hydrological/geo-physical surveys

To monitor drawl and recharge of groundwater to keep its equilibrium and quality

Activities
  1. Monitoring of water level
  2. Ground water Assessment
  3. Estimates for tubewell loaning
  4. Free service to farmer
    1. Location of tubewell site
    2. Optimum tubewell depth.
    3. Design of tubewell assembly.
    4. Development of tubewell.
  5. Micro level survey to identify potential pockets in the over exploited areas.
  6. Technical support to
    • Haryana Vidyut Parsaran Nigam
    • National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development
    • Haryana State Land Development Bank
    • Other commercial banks, in energisation, formulation of scheme and tubewell loaning
What is ground water?

The water below the ground surface in the saturated zone is called ground water and the upper limit of the contact between saturated and un-saturated zone is known as water table.
